Open Source Commitment
SinglePoint Networks stands on the shoulders of giants to achieve its success. We are very proud of the Open Source Community and all that they have accomplished. Without this community, it would be impossible for us to provide the products and services we have. In appreciation for all that the Open Source Community has done, we wish to contribute back as much as we can and pledge to donate five percent of the profits from each sale to the open source projects that we use to make our products work. We do not wish to become a software development firm or employ a large number of software developers. Our focus is on system integration and management. At this time donations will be given to the following projects:
The donations will be given based on need and with our discretion. Our goal is to keep all of the projects that we rely on viable, and to foster development of new and exciting projects as our funds permit. With this in mind, we will not donate as often or as much to open source projects that already have large commercial sponsors, such as Asterisk (Digium), Snort (Sourcefire), and ISC (Cisco, Hp, etc). Although we greatly appreciate the functionality that these other projects provide, we have a limited budget and prefer to provide commercial support for projects that are in greatest need of that support.
We hope to sponsor a bounty program in the near future for feature additions that our customers need and want. The software developed through this bounty program will be released under the GPL and will be donated back to the projects to which they apply. The specifics of the bounty program will be established at a later date. Please check back for more information.
